“Democracity is a satire of mass consumerism as a means for social control. The song was inspired by the BBC documentary 'The Century of the Self', and dissects the use of Sigmund Freud's techniques by government and big-business to suppress the 'dangerous' unconscious-aggressive and sexual forces of the masses. From the CIA's MK Ultra experiments with LSD to the invention of 'public relations' by Freud's nephew Ed Bernays, the lyrics expose the skeletons of our collective closet while offering a fresh perspective on our consumptive lifestyles." – Jesse Miller
